Abstract

This article examines the old Spanish poetry books from the Ramírez Collection stored at the Central Public Library of the state of Durango (Mexico). The paper focuses on the importance of the Renaissance’s eclogue as an example to restore the good taste promoted by the intellectuals of the Enlightenment. In addition, it suggests how these prints had an impact on Mexican critique and bibliography of the late 19th Century.
